The Royal Castle of Durtal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After Henri II, Charles IX, Catherine de M\u00e9dicis and Louis XIII, come and discover the imposing Ch\u00e2teau de Durtal, a historic monument open to visitors: its former kitchens, its fresco gallery, its covered walkway, its “engoulents” room, its 15th-century framework and one of the largest fireplaces in France!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both a fortress and a ch\u00e2teau d’apparat, Durtal is a perfect architectural example of the monumental Loire Valley buildings of the 15th and 16th centuries. Built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the town and the river Loir, the huge 5,000 m2 building and its 90 rooms can only be discovered on guided tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
